Polispec UVISe Inline Contact
In-line contact UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer (300–1060 nm) for continuous colour and physicochemical process monitoring. Its stable measurement geometry and chemometric models provide repeatable, real-time analysis on pipelines, reactors and tanks.
Covering 300–1060 nm, from ultraviolet to near infrared, it simultaneously measures colour coordinates (L*, a*, b*, ΔE) and physicochemical product properties through chemometric models.
The contact configuration provides stable, repeatable measurements under changing process conditions. It can be integrated directly into pipelines, reactors, tanks and mixers for continuous, non-destructive process monitoring without interrupting production.
A range of optical probes supports liquids, semi-liquids and pastes, including pressurised and high-temperature processes. The system is suitable for food, chemical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and research applications that require real-time in-line quality control.

Direct integration with machine or plant.
The system can be equipped with an internal computing unit that allows direct connection to automation systems (dryers, mixers, process lines, or control rooms).
The module, featuring Ethernet or CANBUS connectivity (depending on the model), enables the device to communicate directly with the plant without the need for intermediate devices such as panel PCs.
In this configuration, no local graphical interface is provided: the system operates as an integrated sensor, exchanging data with the plant via standard industrial protocols, including:
- Modbus TCP (client/server)
- ISO over TCP / Siemens S7
- OPC-UA Server
- Analog output
Integration via external computing unit.
The system is equipped with an RS422 output and interfaces with an external processing unit (e.g., panel PC) installed near the measurement point.
This configuration allows the system to be managed through a dedicated graphical interface, offering data visualisation and the possibility of direct interaction with the operator.
It is particularly suitable for contexts where local process supervision is required.
Every industrial process presents specific operating conditions: product type (liquid or solid), temperature, abrasiveness, pressure, and flow velocity.
For this reason, Polispec is designed as a modular platform, supported by a wide range of optical probes and installation kits engineered to adapt to diverse process conditions.
Polispec optical probes are based on a patented proprietary technology, which allows the interface geometry between the instrument and the plant to be adapted without altering analytical performance.
This approach guarantees:
- Consistency of results across different installations
- Maintenance of performance over time
- Interchangeability between different configurations
For particularly complex applications, Itphotonics is capable of developing dedicated installation solutions, tailored to meet specific process requirements.
Every analysis—whether carried out in the field, in the laboratory or directly on the production line—becomes valuable only when the data is clear, accessible and actionable. This is why ITPhotonics has developed a native software ecosystem as an integral part of the instrument, not as an add-on.
Polidata, Poliprocess, CMM/CME and SP3Manager are distinct but complementary modules designed for different operating contexts, from portable and at-line analysis to in-line process control and advanced spectral data management.
Together, instrument and software form a single technology platform that turns spectral measurements into reliable information for quality control and process optimisation.
Polidata is the native software designed to guide operators through every stage of portable and at-line analysis. From instrument setup and sample collection to reporting, it provides complete system control without requiring advanced IT skills.
It supports two operating modes: Analysis, for immediate sample measurement and comparison, and Sample Collection, for building calibration datasets and managing measurement sessions in a structured way.
All results are stored in a searchable local database, with a complete history by product, batch, date and operator. Reports can be customised in content and layout, while data can be exported in standard formats (CSV, DAT, PDF and XML) for integration with other systems.
Key features:
- Complete instrument control in Analysis and Sample Collection modes
- Searchable historical database by product, batch, date and operator
- Customisable reports
- Multi-format data export (CSV, DAT, PDF and XML)
- Intuitive touchscreen interface for field, at-line and laboratory use
Poliprocess is designed for in-line applications and for integrating Polispec instruments into production machinery and industrial plants. More than an instrument interface, it is an industrial connectivity platform that converts spectral data into control signals for automation systems.
It natively supports major industrial communication protocols, including Modbus TCP (client and server), ISO over TCP (Siemens S7), OPC UA Server, ISOBUS, CAN bus and analogue outputs, enabling integration with PLCs, SCADA and plant supervisory systems.
Dedicated data-logging modules provide continuous, timestamped measurement records, alarm management and configurable quality thresholds. Poliprocess turns the spectrophotometer into an active node within the process control network.
Key features:
- Modbus TCP (client and server), ISO over TCP / Siemens S7 and OPC UA Server
- ISOBUS, CAN bus, analogue outputs and additional protocols on request
Integrated data logger with timestamps, alarm management and quality thresholds - Compatibility with major PLCs, SCADA and plant supervisory systems
- Software-based configuration of parameters and calibration models
CMM (Calibration Model Manager) and CME (Calibration Model Editor) are dedicated to the management, standardisation and protection of chemometric calibration models.
A key challenge in industrial spectroscopy is ensuring compatibility between models developed with third-party chemometric software—such as SensoLogic or Ucal—and the software used to operate the instrument. Through dedicated ADKs for Polidata and Poliprocess, CMM/CME makes these calibration models directly available within the Polispec ecosystem, regardless of the software in which they were originally developed.
The package also manages model-standardisation strategies, encrypts calibration data to protect intellectual property, supports calculated parameters and provides multilingual functionality.
Key features:
- Compatibility with chemometric models developed in third-party software
- Dedicated ADKs for integration with Polidata and Poliprocess
- Model-standardisation strategies across multiple instruments
- Calibration-model encryption for intellectual-property protection
- Calculated parameters and multilingual support
SP3Manager is the application for managing raw spectral data. It is designed for researchers, data scientists and laboratory technicians who work directly with spectra generated by Polispec instruments and require structured, flexible access to their data.
The software supports spectral acquisition, visualisation and analysis, the creation and organisation of calibration datasets, and the export of spectral files in common formats for processing with third-party chemometric software.
It provides a traceable workflow for developing new analytical models, from collecting reference spectra to building balanced, representative datasets for calibration and validation.
Key features:
- Import, visualisation and analysis of spectra generated by Polispec instruments
- Creation and organisation of structured calibration datasets
- Export in formats including CSV, JCAMP-DX and SPC
- Traceable workflow for chemometric model development and validation
- Designed for R&D, laboratories and product-development teams
The mounting kits are engineered to ensure efficient and safe integration into various industrial plant configurations.
These are paired with specific accessories that expand the system’s operational modes, enabling its use close to the production line and portable configurations as well.
This modularity allows the solution to be tailored to precise operational needs, from continuous in-line monitoring to decentralized quality control.
All accessories are developed to maintain the highest standards of reliability, stability, and measurement repeatability, even under fluctuating operating conditions.
